Our Spring golf league is designed for junior golfers ages 7-14 that want to play on the course and compete.  It is structured similar to other youth sports leagues in that players participate on a TEAM and compete against the other teams in the league.  It is geared towards kids of most abilities and experience levels as long as they have golf course experience and can maneuver on the course with little adult guidance.  The Game format is a 2 v 2 Scramble Match Play (similar to PGA Jr. Leagues).  The 2019 season featured 45 players separated on four teams that competed in five games and a season ending Stroke Play Invitational.  Games were played at the four county courses (Princeton Country Club, Mercer Oaks East and West, and Mountain View) giving them exposure to various types of terrain and course layouts.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The season begins in early April with team practices.  The first game will be held on Sunday, April 26th, 2020.

  • Individual team practices are held on a designated weeknight starting between 5:30-6 p.m. and lasting for one hour.  Each team practices one time per week.   They are held at Princeton Country Club or Mercer Oaks.  When registering, please indicate any weeknights that your child CANNOT practice.

  • Games are held on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m.  They are 9 holes and each individual player is guaranteed to play at least 6 holes.  Games usually end by 6 p.m. Games will not be held on Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend, and Father's Day*. Teams rotate play through the four Mercer County Courses (Princeton Country Club, Mountain View,and Mercer Oaks East and West.

  • The Game format is a 2 v 2 Scramble Match Play. 

  • During games, parent volunteers are needed to keep score and monitor pace of pace of play.  Families/Friends can also spectate but must remain on the paved cart path during games.

  • The season ends with a Stroke Play Invitational.  Coaches will select their top players (4-5 players/team) to compete in an individual stroke play format.

  • Teams are coached by Mercer County Golf Academy Staff.

  • Cost is $375 and includes participation in weekly practices (unlimited range balls during practice), greens fees for Games/Stroke Play Invitational, range balls before games, coaching by Mercer County Golf Academy Staff, polo shirt, and awards reception at the end of the season.

Mercer County

Junior Golf League 

Fall League (September-October)

Details:

Our Fall Golf League is designed for kids to get out and compete in various formats and on different golf courses throughout the county.

  • 5 week program (5 matches) beginning mid September (practices 9/11 and 9/12, first match 9/15). Last match will be 10/13 (rain date 10/20).  Matches are 9 holes.

  • Players MUST have golf course experience to enroll and be able to walk 9 holes either pushing/pulling or carrying their bag.

  • Players can attend open practice ONCE per week (offered Wednesday and Thursday at Princeton CC) and they will compete in matches on Sunday afternoons. Players are permitted to attend practice ONLY ONE of the two nights per week that are offered. Practices will be from 5:30-6:30 at PCC. Sunday match Tee Times will start at 2:30 p.m.

  • Matches (9 holes) will be played at Princeton CC and Mercer Oaks (Match dates are 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13)

  • Open to boys and girls ages 7-17.  Players will be grouped by age, gender, and skill.  Age groups will be determined based on the ages of players enrolled (e.g. 7-10, 11-13, 14-17).  Ages 14-17 will primarily play their own ball (stroke play, Stableford, Better Ball).

  • COST $275

  • Players will NOT be placed on specific teams like our Spring League/PGA Jr. League.  Instead, they will compete in a different format each match (whole group scramble, 2 v. 2 scramble, Stableford, Alternate Shot, Shamble, Stroke Play, etc.) and will accumulate points each match based on their performance.

  • Parents are encouraged to attend matches to spectate and can assist in keeping score and maintaining pace of play.  Caddies are NOT permitted.

  • Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers upon completion of the league.
